On March 24, 2014 AIC participated in a case study of how Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) funds have been used effectively to provide better protection and preparedness capabilities in key American Port areas.
Port Fourchon/the LOOP have been selected as the case study on Louisiana’s use of PSGP funds.
This event consisted of an informal roundtable discussion which allowed FEMA and DHS reps to hear directly from AIC on how port security projects have evolved through these grants since 2008, and how they assisted AIC efforts in ensuring that Port Fourchon and LOOP remain some of the most secure facilities in the nation.
As a key partner in the PSGP programs and projects which are the focus of this case study, AIC’s participation in this panel discussion on the history of these projects and the benefits these projects have had for AIC’s capacity to gather, synthesize, and act on intelligence data in the Port area (and beyond) was deemed vital to the completion of this case study.
AIC appreciates the opportunity to participate in events such as this and will continue to strive to delver true solutions such as the one featured in FEMA’s case study.
